Best chair for pwp?
I like your question, Sherry. I was thinking of a high-end office chair, might be adjustable and comfortable.
Noticing the lack of response perhaps we are too hopeful in thinking we could find something comfortable. Or perhaps you just have to go to furniture stores and keep trying things out. That's how I got the chair I have now which is a flex steel and was very comfortable for me but now with PD I have the same problem you're talking about. Especially when I have dyskinesia. Very frustrating!
My kitchen chairs are wicker and wood, with curved back. I don’t have a problem, there. My living room chair, is a lift, electrically powered, lounge chair, that is perfect, for times when stiffness is a real problem, for me!
I have one of these:

It is very adjustable.
It is also very expensive, but it is a great investment.
I have had mine for 20 years, 18 of which I was a full time telecommuter (it has gotten a lot of use and it is just as comfortable as the day I bought it).
That said, I have never had an issue with sliding out of a chair...
Best to find a shop that sells high-end adjustable office chairs and try some out...
Thank you, Levod! Many people have suggested office chairs. Appreciate your imput.
Something with a footstool
I recently purchased a lift chair for my husband. It's convenient and comfortable, as well as an investment (1K - 2K). Medicare will pay a small portion of the total (the cost of the mechanical parts only). You could choose a custom non-slippery fabric. That said, a lift chair is made for someone who has difficulty getting up from a chair. However, it you put the chair in a zero gravity or TV position, you would be positioned in such a way that you could NOT easily slide out! Make sure that your feet touch the ground while in the sitting position. Trying out chairs at a furniture store is a good plan. Best of luck to you finding the right chair!
