Husband receives VA due to potential cause of toxic water at his training base in late sixties. Hard to imagine how many were using that water. Families living there! However in the years leading up to diagnosis he was running a backhoe and dump truck and the gas fumes alone must have done damage.
Parkinsons Causes?: Husband receives VA due... - Cure Parkinson's
Parkinsons Causes?
Hi Coweemanriver
Where was your husband stationed? I also was on a base that the EPA determined to be one of the most toxic places on the planet, Ft. McClellan, AL. There could be other factors for how I could have gotten Parkinson's, but I'm sure that base didn't help. Hopefully one day Congress will acknowledge all the pain & suffering us Veterans have had to endure for serving our country.
Camp Lejeune 1967. Toxic water from a cleaners chemicals was part of it. He too had other factors but it sure makes you wonder. I have MS without any symptoms for several years. And I was at El Toro for 3 years. It was an old base even then 1967-1970. The families also had old places. Updates in living conditions are not a priority in military budget. Would be interesting study.
