I tried it for quite a few months several years ago. It made no difference to my symptoms.

My husband w PD began using it before he knew he had PD. We think it's helped him. I think it's hard to evaluate the effect.

He's used it for several years. He hasn't had the flu since starting it. But that could be coincidental. He says when he first started LDN he noticed an improvement in his mood.

I've benefited from using LDN for fibromyalgia.

John, my neighborhood compounding pharmacist suggested it to my husband a few months ago. We might give it a try for his knee pain.

LDN improves endorphin system (response, sensibility and release) that is damaged by long use of L/C meds. Effective on sleep (if you can't sleep otherwise gives vivid dreams and sleep disturbance), constipation if you are constipated, relaxation, pain, blood pressure, general wellbeing for the release of endorphins. L/C meds can be reduced.

I've made myself the idea that L/C cycles go to control the others that adapt and depend on it (a sort of fuel that is fully available and is used more and more - something like the nicotine patch therapy). The problem is the short half life and partial toxicity of some metabolites of dopamine (3-O-MD es).

Probably when endorphins are more available some L/D is saved and can be reduced.

Beneficial effects on withdrawal symptoms (delayed, even if not malignant) are also reported. I see similarities with CBD and THC Oil .

If interrupted symptoms return so is not a cure (just another med)

My wife, now 71, took LDN for 7 years a year after she was Dx with PD 18 years ago. I did a lot of online research on LDN back then and was a believer. She stopped taking LDN because she thought it was not working and she was progressing. We are looking for a nursing home now. We got LDN from Skip's Pharmacy in Fl.
