Pacitane 2mg tablets forPD?

Anyone using pacitane 2mg drug, please help to understand

My assumption here is that your physician is prescribing "Pacitane" (Artane is 5 mgs.) because you are on other drugs that are causing you some form of movement disorders (dystonia, spams, tremors, etc), but doesn't want you to stop the other drug(s).

Approved in 2003 for PD, but it is an old, old, old drug going back to the 1950s..

Equally effective as the more popular Amantadine (not as popular because AMA produced fewer side effects and less severe ones).

Doses > 5 mgs. have been used to as high as 30 mgs.

I have never heard of it being used in any of the 2 support groups I coordinate. Nor is it normally a PD mono-therapy.

inexpensive generic.
