If he’s on B1 it’s not advised as it stops it working. I’m just better without alcohol and feeling better is more important than the half hour of pleasure sipping a drink. I do drink non-alcoholic beer occasionally. It’s good!
I would have him ask his doctor.
Alcohol aggravates my symptoms. It never did much for me so avoiding it is no loss for me.
I would think 1 beer would be ok as long as he feels ok after it. Alcohol interferes with my sleep so he may want to monitor that.
My main trigger is stress and sitting quietly reading and having a pint of Guinness of an evening does me a power of good.
I have a glass of wine most nights with dinner. It relaxes me and my tremor.
I have continued to drink alcohol and take some comfort from this story:
I have a glass of red wine almost nightly. Good for ya and calms me down. My mds agrees!
There is also sugar in alcoholic drinks which is also bad, but I think beer and red wine have good compounds too.
2 glasses of red wine every night with dinner. A pleasure I need to retain. PD makes you give up enough. Keeping this enjoyment.
