Exercise versus cell waste

If the following theory relating PD to an issue with getting rid of cell waste is true, it might explain one reason exercise helps. Exercise causes more cell waste, but it improves PD symptoms rather the make worse over the long run. Many here have said it temporarily makes symptoms worse. But, assuming this theory is true, exercise must either be unclogging the waste disposal or starting an alternate waste disposal system to get rid of cell waste.

This theory would explain why adequate sleep helps PD, explained in previous discussions.

I think this is at least a part of why exercise helps. My approach to it all is to do anything I can find that would be good for me even if I didn't have PD. My hope is that if I do things that increase my overall health, that can only be a positive step forward.

I’m really interested in this as I have been looking into the glymphatic system recently. I don’t have PD but I have had this annoying condition in my head for over a year now after a dentist visit where they extracted a molar. It feels like I have fluid accumulating in the back of my head and I when I lie down it makes my head feel under pressure. It was stating to make my whole right side of my body feel weird. I have constant feeling o of fluid draining down my throat and that there is something in the back of my head. I can’t sleep and when I do it wakes me up in the night. Doctors, ENT, spinal specialist haven’t found anything. I’ve had MRI and cat scan. So they have decided it is a nerve tricking my brain into imagining symptoms. Or stress.

The most relief I have had a from a TMJ physio who massages my soft pallet and jaw muscles, but still no cure. So this week I went to a chinese traditional medicine doctor who has done acupuncture and cupping on my back and shoulders and finally I feel a bit better. She says my neck is very tight and it might be a damaged nerve. There is a muscle running up the back side of your neck and head which goes to the top of your forehead and she put a needle in this one and I could feel it all the way along this muscle. After this she did the cupping and finally this week I have had some relief! I feel like the fluid build up in my head is draining away.

I have just mentioned all of this long story because some of the symptoms I have had are also PD symptoms. I think the acupuncture and cupping plus massage help with drainage in the glymphatic system which must be where my problem is I think. I’ve always been sceptical of acupuncture and cupping sounds like black magic! But it helped a lot when nothing else and lots of expensive specialists and tests have found nothing.

If waste disposal and drainage are causing PD symptoms it might be worth a try, especially if your neck is stiff?

Did you get an implant to replace the molar? If so, was it an upper or lower molar?

No, I thought about it but am nervous about putting a synthetic thing like that in. It’s a lower one next to the one that is next to the wisdom tooth. Considering a bridge from the tooth next to it which they say needs a crown. It’s all really expensive so not sure what to do but plodding along toothless for now. It has made my chewing a little lopsided though.
