Mandatory Testing Shows Cognitive Deficits in Late-Career Clinicians
About 13% show problems likely to impair their ability to practice medicine.
Doctors are human. I suspect they suffer from mental illness, have drug abuse problems and personality defects at higher rates than the general population, based on my interactions with the medical system. It's important to recognize when a doctor is acting against your best interests, take action and fire them. Health organizations are not proactive in weeding out medical personnel, especially doctors. I hope the paradigm shifts.
