That's great! How much do you take? Do you take other amino acids as well?

Amino acids are amazing things! I thought I was going nuts several years back, my Dr put me on Amino Acids, I cleared up in a week. Haven't looked into them for PD.

Could you please list the amino acids you're on ? It would be very much appreciated.

My first experience with amino acids was 10 years ago, I only remember the 5-htp, not sure what the others were. Trudy Scott shares a lot of research she does on Aminos on her facebook page and blog. Trudy Scott Antianxiety Solution on FB, you can link to her blog from there. I now take 5_htp and Gaba for calming effects.I also take Mucuna pruriens instead of drugs for my l-dopa.

Do you have any genetic markers or anything that might indicate what caused or what types your PD? Is your PD with trimmers or stiff muscles only? PD cause seems to be important on how supplements work.

Fava/broad beans are what people use in countries with no medication. They contain levodopa and carbidopa. When green they have more than dried. If you grow them, the leaves also have levodopa and carbidopa, and you can eat the beans raw for the most medication.

Where did you find something stating that fava beans contain carbidopa? I don't believe this is correct.

Note: Lima beans only have Levodopa, no Carbidopa.

Tyrosine is in the restore gold Parkinson’s formulation my husband takes.

According to the following link, unless you are on a low meat or no meat diet, you should be getting significant tyrosine in your diet.

livestrong.com/article/4082...

For each pound of meat you get 21 grams of tyrosine. That's 762 mg for each ounce of meat.

This is also the case with creatine.

it works! what else?

Probably means your diet is insufficient of tyrosine for some reason. It may be specific to your PD, i.e. you need more than average.

b-bar,

1. Are you using using N Acetyl L Tyrosine or L-Tyrosine?

2. Whichever one you are using, what dose are you taking to see good effect and how often and when are you taking it?

3.With food or without food?

4. With medication or away from other medications?

5. How long did it take you to see positive effects?

6. How long have you been taking it?

7. What exactly do you feel it does for you or how does it help you?

Thank you!
