Could this newly discovered protein help ... - Cure Parkinson's
Could this newly discovered protein help treat Parkinson's?
Interesting one to toss into the current debate about whether A-syn has a real role in PD pathology (and therefore whether regulating it can help the disease) or whether it is a distraction of no relevance, as a couple of recent research papers have postulated.
Personally, I am inclined to the A-syn as villain camp (number of recent interesting papers) and hope HYPE will be a valuable resource
In spite of its slightly unfortunate acronym...
Yes. HYPE is an unfortunate a choice. Brings back to memory "Differentiating HOPE from HYPE" warhoop of Todd Sherer, CEO of MJFF which he proclaimed on the launch of a second trial of Nilotinib using the design of Georgetown University (whom he cut out of participation). Fortunately GU ran their own trial and it looks like they will report results first.
Like MJFF I have my doubts about the Georgetown U. results. MJFF is in a tough spot because they cannot go public about their issues with GU. Suffice it say I found it odd for GU to report no adverse events for a medication that causes a serious skin reaction in 40% of patients.
