Very sad. Hopefully they will get it under control before too much damage is done.

I’m devastated by that! When I studied architecture, and the history of building Cathedrals, in college, Notre Dame was at the forefront of being represented, as the perfectly designed cathedral. Flying buttresses, perfectly in place, excellent acoustics, the spire very recognizeable, and, of course, the rose window, is known as the finest of it’s kind! It looked like possibly the rose window, survived, without being broken, the last that I saw on the news. I hope everything will be able to be restored, at the Notre Dame!

it won't be easy but I think that French friends will rebuild it more beautiful than before.

It can be done.

I've been looking at where you live on Google Earth. You must've been like Mother Teresa in a previous life.

It's pretty here. And friendly. Not sure whether you found our village. It has 87 permanent human inhabitants and at least as many equine ones. In addition to a large riding school and trekking centre there is a donkey sanctuary tucked up a mountain trail. For 50 euros a day you can take a donkey for a walk in the mountains. The donkey carries a wicker basket with your lunch in. There are at least 4 more donkeys kept by individuals including my neighbours Elliott, who plays Eeyore to my Winnie the poo

Beautiful. My daughter has 2, 3-month-old foals on her horse farm and they're fun to watch. They don't get too far from Mom.

Beautiful scenery.

This made me smile today at our local pool. It is closing down for winter but had a dog pool party before it shut! ( posted for dog lovers)🐶

We have just got a black lab puppy 2 months ago . Never had a dog before! I wasn’t sure how it would go but he is turning out to be a therapy dog as he cuddles up to my husband to watch football and makes him laugh, and makes him go for a walk and people stop to see the puppy so that makes hubby chat. lol good stuff!

Thank you, WtP. After my PwP husband's passing at 81 last year, I've had to give up my peaceful suburban home of 53 years and now live in a retirement centre next to an urban shopping mall. It's conveniently placed and the people are kind. I'm fortunate but I miss the peace and quiet. Your picture is a tonic. Bless you.

Thank you M1tz1. I am sure you miss your former home, but it is good to hear you are in a safe place with kind people. My parents (both 85) made a similar move last year, although my Dad is currently still in hospital following bowel cancer surgery that did not go to plan. I'm glad you enjoyed the photo.
