Our chum turns up pretty frequently in posts. In my view the first article you quote is a good summary. The gluten avoidance advice is not supported by mainstream research but is deeply embedded in the psych of PD alternative therapy followers. Sadly it's not even possible to say this one is at best harmless. I have linked to a couple of pieces of thorough research which establish that whole grain contributes to lower health risk.
The microbiome stuff is a bit different. Perlmutter hypes it and exploits it for personal gain, as do a few others on "free" video infomercials. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is a lot of proper scientific research into the microbiome and PD and unlike gluten free or keto (another perlmutter "guaranteed" PD recommendation), there is no adverse reporting I am aware of. The only cautions are exaggeration of what can be achieved and oversimplification of microbiome change. You don't cure PD by taking a couple of probiotic tablets a day.
There is a big new snake oil industry woken up to the exploding size of the chronic illness market. Aided by the historical lack of effective solutions from mainstream science.
I mean allopathic doctors don't approve of homeopathic doctors although Dr. Perlmutter is a NEUROLOGIST who decided to take a different path than that of his colleagues'. Allopathic doctors do not believe in CAM, holistic approach to diseases.
It means Winnie was very successful at high school with very high marks, and then spent eight years of rigorous, hard study - every day and most nights for eight years.
So there is a chance that Winnie might know something you do not?
You need to decide whether to trust health amateurs, or health professionals.
Well, that depends. If you know of a medical doctor who "cured" anyone with prescription drugs, let me know, otherwise I will stick to Integrative/Functional Medicine and NDs, like Dr. Laurie Aschley. Dr. Mark Hyman, is a neurologist who decided that medicine was/is not the answer to health problems so he became a Functional Medicine doctor. Such doctors go down to the root of the health problem and they use alternative methods to help their patients.
