I find these days that I am more emotional than I have ever been. I cry watching people dance or a movie trailer for the new Mary Poppins. This hasn’t always been the case (I was in the military for 35 years). Is this just part of the PD or am I becoming soft in my old age?

Emotions
It comes with the territory. It can be embarrassing, though. I cried in a few places at forty-ones funeral today which never would've happened 10 years ago. I am, however, trying to recognize that being in closer touch with my feelings is a good thing. I think it makes life richer. Just try going with it.
"It makes life richer" is a great description of the gift that receiving the world through our feelings gives us. pd is a pain in the ass, but to have easier access to our emotions is at least some compensation. A Bach concerto, a child being lifted up by its parent, my wife tending the flowers in her garden. These experiences, felt more deeply than ever, give me gratitude for being on this mysterious planet, in spite of the physical consequences of pd.
i cry at commercials like the one where the dog gets a new home. It takes a lot less than a funeral to get my tears flowing. It is PD.
Hi,
Mood swings, although possibly from the PD,could be from med"s
I've been on a dopamine agonist for some time. In hindsight, I've been OCD for months, but in a good way. I got into research. and not un common these days, and better than gambling. Any way, I got more hyper in off periods, and cried easily when frustrated, which culminated the other bizarre day in which I watched myself be Manic-depressive within a few hours.
I guess because of my self education, I realized it was from meds. Went to Dr next day, cut dose in half, and I am back to my self.

I am also more sensitive, emotional since PD. It can be good or bad. It is a matter of perspective which is affected by attitude.
