Need not to worry .condition of PD invariably worsen during other ailments in the body.It will improve once the flu is over.Rest depends on other variables like exercise, attitude and right medicine .
The development of dyskinesia may have nothing to do with your flu. Approximately 15% of PWP develop early dyskinesia. I know, because I am in that group. Mine started at 4 months. However, give yourself some time to recover from the flu and see if you function as you did.
Parki-plus ? Very unlikely friend, I'm 9 y post diagnosis and have had a shed-load of bugs in that time. I only have to sneeze and I'm full blown parki !
You may need to dramatically increase your fluid intake, correct hydration is essential for the meds to work, once they stop working you can start slipping into withdrawals, and once the meds are upset it can take a week to settle.
So if you've had flu I'd be very surprised if you were 'not' temporarily worse. You'll bounce back I'm sure. I'm not medically qualified but I've been living in the land of Parkinsonia for a while now. One final point, don't think how you are is your pd unmasked, its your pd unmasked with the addition of drug level drop and fatigue which makes everything worse.
Best wishes
Thank you so much. This has really helped Niggs I've been pretty wound up about it..
Not at all, I've been through the same and similar sooo many times, even now there are times when I feel myself thinking 'oh sh*t I'm suddenly worse'! Of course both PD and the PD meds cause anxiety, well they would wouldn't they ! making it harder to both cope and think rationally. Try to remember that PD is a slowly progressing disease, pd plus are very rare and so 99% of the time if you're suddenly worse, there's a non-pd reason, either you're ill or coming down with a bug, the drug levels have slipped, your anxious about something, you've expended to much energy etc
Glad you're feeling better.
How do you feel now?
