I am used to exercising six days in a week. Recumbent for 60 minutes and weight machines. I hurt myself, cleaning up in the backyard. I am in pain and cannot exercise.

What can I do? Am I losing to Parkin?

First, rest a little while. Be kind and forgiving to your body. Then restart with physical therapy, possibly aquatic non weight bearing. Work your way back gradually. Good luck !

In our anxiety to get better we sometimes push ourselves too hard. Its good to have a healthy drive and motivation, but dont do too much or your body will get angry! Feel better, friend! And as you probably already know, drink lots of water. Undenatured grass fed whey protein isolate is miraculous, too.

Give your body a chance to recover. You should do it every other day not every single day you will be able to maintain the same results.

It would help to have a bit of detail about the injury. Physical therapists can work wonders.

My PT wants me to wait on the cortisone. The pain in my hip hit mej

right after my work in the garden.

I’m an advocate of exercise and this could last awhile.

By the way, I joined this community an year ago and I remember

Thanks kindly : - )

If this is muscle pain stretching and massage helps.

The easiest thing to try to find out if it is inflammation or an actual injury would be an ice pack applied directly to the painful area of the hip for three days of regular application. Place a towel between the ice pack and the skin to avoid damaging the skin. Sometimes, hip and leg pain can be nerve related in which case the problem may be coming from the spinal area in which case you would have to apply the ice pack there.

I think you've gotten some wonderful suggestions here. I broke a bone in my foot two and a half months ago, just landed wrong when I missed a step, and had the same thoughts as you. I have always felt on some level that I am out running PD and found it very disconcerting to not be able to do much. But I have found, after taking it easy on my foot for two months, that I'm still able to do most of what I could do before and I have started slowly and have tried to learn to be a little kinder to myself and more accepting of what may come. I am 66 and certainly have all the aches and pains that go along with that plus PD and can only do so much. So as others have said, physical therapy is very helpful and starting slow and listening to your body.

You would think after 76 years that I would know how

to take care of myself.

I overdose my whole life. “If good is good, doing overdose is wrong.”

Thank You, Everybody.
