Hello,
I read today an interesting explanation, on why high dose of thiamine improves the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. I would like to share it.
Many thanks!

Thank you for posting. I listened to the program but have not been back to see this. Makes sense to me. Mary
Thank you so much for posting that! That was clear and easily understood. It answered a lot of the questions I've had.
He seems to feel that "stress" is causing the breakdown of the methylation cycle which ultimately leads to PD, but if that were actually the case, it seems like there would be many many more PWPs walking around on this planet given the high stress levels that many people operate under everyday! Just because a person has tremendous long term stress in their life, does not automatically equate to PD for them. Two of my friends with minimal stress do have PD.
I'm more inclined to believe in the "disrupted transporter" theory in which the transport mechanism that delivers thiamine to the brain is operating very inefficiently and flooding the system with high dose thiamine helps to compensate for this inefficiency. Still, this is just speculation also and the actual cause is not currently known, but theories can be interesting!
It may turn out to be a combination of factors and stress is merely a contributing factor as may be a disrupted transporter mechanism. That could partially explain why some people respond better than others.

How many neurologists ask their new patients if they have been under particular stress? Mine didn’t and I had!!
I am another person with low stress and PD.
On the one hand, stress is bad for your health in general because it increases oxidative stress and inflammatory levels which will exacerbate many disease states, but on the other hand, destressing is easier said than done!

b1 has a restorative effect on nerve cells helping them to solve energy problems, this is also because improperly said the vitamin of happiness for many years, so useful to reduce stress, do not believe it ?, try a small dose (100mg ) before sleep and you sleep quiet.

Life Extension Bio-Active Complete B-Complex, 60 Capsules. Ingredients include 100mg thiamin HCI
Among other factors (mercury pesticides fertilizer radiation well water) constant relentless stress and no sleep were the nails in the coffin for me and pd.
Yes same for me washed up mercury oxide test tubes in my early 20s not realising as it was orange
Also lots of contact with farm chemicals
Plus a fairly stressful life!
Something was going to get me lol!
I've got radiation in my well water too!! I have lived a couple of miles from a coal ash plant for the past two years. A well on my street had high levels of Vanadium.
Were you able to reduce or eliminate the mercury, bassofspades?
I cleared it out with Immunocal Platinum, a good quality whey protein isolate that contains bonded cysteine. Great precursor to glutathione.
If I'm lactose intolerant, bassofspades, will I be able to use whey protein without bad cramping?
Great question! The answer is yes. Whey protein isolate contains no lactose if you get a high quality brand such as Immunocal or Promix. Remember, lactose is sugar not protein. Whey protein isolate is only protein including many many amino acids and immunoglobulins.
Probably can't get either of those brands here in South Africa but will ask for a good quality one. Thank you, friend.
Try to get a grass fed variety and organic, if you can.
Things are pretty primitive in some (not all!!) ways here. In the end we take what we can get. No grass-fed beef (I'm a vegetarian anyway) and hardly anything organic. But years ago, our Dr Christiaan Barnard did the world's first heart transplant!
beckey, you sound dispondent..... it's just me speaking, but your bodyy is your sanctuary, don't let anyone abuse your right to protect it. hope you know what i mean, i'm vey tieered at the moment.
your gut, which is your irst defense, is probably overwhelmed. i try to use one supplement /med whatever, at a time to know how it's responding to my health. i take note. it's called bio feedback in caluiornis, of sorts. be kind to your gut. i'll tell you my reactions to mumuana when amazon delivers. i can mix levodopa with mucuna i understand, molecular structure resemble dopomine content in both products, but mucuna supossed to have other bio substances that are prescibbed for healthy functioning o other systems like glands. bye for now.

Hi Rozabellita,

seem that only use of xylitolo improve prevotellacee in the gut. Art reference.
i think is that one.🤫

This is a article that Art say that spoke about Xylitol and prevotellacee ask easilly here on HU🧐
I sent that link to GioCas based on this mannitol post when we were discussing the disturbed microbiome of PWPs and the prevotella bacteria as well as other friendly bacteria that become depleted as the disease progresses.
healthunlocked.com/parkinso...
We were looking at why some people are more responsive to mannitol than others and how the disturbed microbiome may play into that. Through that post we were able to find a probiotic that contained a specific bacteria that showed the potential to increase butyrate and Gio went forward with his experiment using that probiotic to good effect! It appears that xylitol may help to restore the depleted prevotella family of bacteria as well as butyrate and possibly hydrogen sulfide (at least in mice) which all three become depleted as the disease progresses.
