PROBLEMS WITH FREEZING

I'm 78 years old and was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago. Freezing has been the main symptom I've dealt with and now It's to the point now where I can't move unless I take weight off one side by putting pressure on my walker. That gets me going but it's very hard on my shoulders because I have to continue that pressure in order to keep moving. I've tried Northera and Ceylon cinnamon but with no improvement. I've also increased my dosage of sinemet to four times what I was taking a year ago, now taking twelve pills a day, but with no noticeable change. I've also taken PT specifically geared to dealing with freezing and although I manage my condition fairly well, it's frustrating because I know it's gotten worse and will continue to do so. My biggest problem is when I get in a tight space and have to turn around. If I have room to make a wide turn, that works well but unfortunately there are many situations where there isn't room. I know all the "tricks" to get out of freezing but am looking for something that will actually prevent freezingl HELP!! Also, I've heard that Rock Steady Boxing has helped some with PD but have not heard it's helped with freezing. I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who's taken/taking RSB as to what it's done for them. Thank you for any input you can give me.

First of all. Taking high levels of dopamine medication, which is toxic and can cause very serious side effects, is not the way to go. If you are not getting any benefit from the medication yu should talk to your doctor and reduce it to a level that does still give you some relief. If it does not give you any relief then why are you taking it? It does nothing to slow down the progression of Pd.

As far as the freezing is concerned. Are you aware of the fact that movement controlled subconsciously is most affected by Pd? You can take conscious control of your movement and immediately overcome the freezing problem, but only if you work at it. It costs nothing to learn how to do it. Look at my website- reverseparkinsons.net and contact me. I will tell you how to do it at no cost to yourself.

You can also look at my profile which will tell you what I have done to overcome many of my symptoms and to have been able to live a normal life, medication-free since 2002.
