What trehalose protocol ?

Trehalose effectiveness:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/259...

" Behavioral tests and neurochemical analysis demonstrated a significant attenuation in α-synuclein-mediated deficits in motor asymmetry and DA neurodegeneration including impaired DA neuronal survival and DA turnover, as well as α-synuclein accumulation and aggregation in the nigrostriatal system by commencing 5 and 2% trehalose [in test animal's water] at the same time as delivery of AAV. Trehalose (0.5%) was ineffective on the above behavioral and neurochemical deficits. Further investigation showed that trehalose enhanced autophagy in the striatum by increasing formation of LC3-II. This study supports the concept of using trehalose as a novel therapeutic strategy that might prevent/reverse α-synuclein aggregation for the treatment of PD."

Are you still taking trehalose? I started few days ago. If you're still taking it how are you doing? Mary

I started taking a very small dose about two years ago. I would make a batch of iced tea w/ trehalose and put it in the fridge. I drank about a cup day so I was getting around 2 to 4 grams a day which isn’t much. I cant remember what the recommended protocol was but im pretty sure it was 10 or more grams a day. I upped my grams for about a week then came across that article so I stopped drinking it all together. I can say that I never had cdiff over those two years while taking small amounts. I didn’t noticed any dramatic changes.

I cant remember the source of this information, but recently i read a report about trehalose which was all good except one thing : it is rendered completely ineffective by the digestive system's breakdown of it. Maybe intravenous? Probably not worth it.

Except that was from a particularly arrogant doctor from the medical industrial complex. There are a lot of people with Ataxia who have reported massive benefit from this - especially Sunvox - so it might help for Parkinson's too.

I am taking a couple of spoonfuls in a cup of tea around 7pm when I remember. I just think it give the alpha syn a couple more things to think about. Still taking Mannitol in the morning.

Nothing beats a good 45 minute cardio workout though.

Obviously if you ever get C diff or are on antibiotics I would stop taking trehalose.

Hope Mannitol won't end up being dangerous, too!
