Is terribile join pain part pf PD ? If so, has anyone found something to give them reliëf ?
It found relief only with epidural steroid injection and daily potassium, see my profile.
Yes PD causes lots of muscle, joint and nerve pain; I have siatic type pain thru arms and shoulders; also thru both legs.
Exercise works the best to relieve pain but if you have moved into a more advanced stage of PD, meditation is good. For some, the only way to keep pain under control is medication. I suggest using simple ibuprofin as long as possible; stay away from the heavy pain killers. Heating pads and ice. If you are a believer, focus on your faith and the people who love you.
I am finding that defocusing on yourself and focusing on others in need really works to regulating your own pain.
It is not easy to take any of my pointers seriously when pain is dominating your days. Just keep moving forward.
I found some sort of relieve in Amitriptyline, which I take in the evening!!
Yes, I thought it was arthritis, but when given the proper dosage of Sinemet, my aching stiff muscles, and joints eased up. Some of it is arthritis, but most of it was due to the rigidity of PD in all four of my limbs, according to my neurological specialist. I had gotten to the point where I couldn't walk far without being in a lot of pain.
For any arthritis pain take 1 scoop of collagen with a teaspoon of MSM twice a day. You can put it in your coffee or food just like the Mannitol. And I also give my Mom 5 HTP ( chewable) at bedtime and it prevents any muscle cramps or tremors. She sleeps the entire night. We are still working on the joint pain but this could get you started and eliminate some problems. It might take a couple weeks before you notice the collagen and MSM working but i know it works because I use it as well.
