Hi,

I am 30 years old and I was diagnosed with PD 6 months ago. I almost don't have any tremors but I suffer from movement slowness. I don't walk like normal. Just wanted to thank you and hear from your experiences 🥀🥀

My husband was diagnosed in September 2017 and it was a shock! I lost a lot of weight just knowing it. He doesnt suffer from tremors on a day to day basis but he jerks when he sleeps and suffers from slowness.Thats how it was ..a simple examination that turned out to be a nightmare. Hes on azilect which is very expensive and I’m not sure if its a good idea after being in this forum...i am doing exercises with him as i find them in the internet utube and its very light exercise but each time after he does it he feels better and seems to walk a little faster .I think for a start marching is a good exercise to do. We put on the Adele music and he says its 4 mins and covers 400 strides but he refuses to do anymore as he says he gets very tired. Are you taking any meds or supplements?

First time, my neurologist dealt with me as a set of symptoms not as a human, it was a shock, I didn't even know what a PD is .. while I was going back home I looked for videos on Youtube and the shock turned into a nightmare. The next appointment, the man was very gentle but he told me that PD cannot be cured. I am currently on Sifrol .18 2*3 and it doesn't help.

One more thing, I believe that someone should take care of wives too. They need help as well.

If the pramipexole/Sifrol does not help then do not take it. It is for symptomatic relief only and can have adverse side effects

What are your symptoms?

For my husband its the balancingat first. He goes for walks and find that his head was moving forward and the rest of the body wasn’t.I did not take any notice at first . Does anybody have ideas on this? Is there an exercise for the head ?

A tendency to lean forward is typical. I find I need to actively resist that and when I find I am doing it to straighten up.

I'm sorry to get it so early in life. I have a son (27) and I'm concerned he can have it from me.

Anyhow, the best thing is not to get down like most of us did when we got the dx.; stay positive and do a lot of exercising and STAY AWAY of any stress. I got my dx last year but my age is double then yours so I wish you the best.

I hope all the best for you and your son. I go to the gym everyday. I hope this would reverse back the disease.
