This study backs to 2013 granted by Michael J fox foundation. In the conclusion they say "We plan to build a prototype of a clinically feasible device to be implanted at early stages of Parkinson’s disease. "

Does anybody knowswhat happened next?

I have found that a french organization Clinatech is working on it. However Clinical trials including human beings are currently suspended, pending funds to the amount of €1.7 million.

This is a pity that governments don't allocate even a small fraction of their annual budgets for research on these illnesses
