As a therapist by myself, I sometimes get tipps of my patients...the most of them I know already, but this is new for me......someone experience with this ??? Knowing more about it (some evolution in 2017 ?) ?
Ibogaine is classified as a Schedule I-controlled substance in the United States,[68] and is not approved there for addiction treatment (or any other therapeutic use) because of its hallucinogenic, neurotoxic, and cardiovascular side effects, as well as the scarcity of safety and efficacy data in human subjects.[69]
Schedule I substances are described as those that have the following findings:
The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.[31]
Ibogaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance ... Its use has been associated with serious side effects and death.[2] ...Ibogaine is a psychedelic

Not clear from the link what dosage was used in that one patient. In any case, messing with this in the United States would put people in legal jeopardy.
I am not accusing them of fabricating the results. It is possible they used a low dosage and thereby avoided the psychedelic effects. Be that as it may, it is illegal in United States so we cannot use it.
Jan. you may not know this but there was a very hopeful trial here in UK at Bristol where patients had GDNF dripped into their sub nigra for a year or more. The results, which we were all very keen to hear were very disappointing sadly. The full end to the programme is still to be called and analyses carried out, but as always with anything that proved hopeful........it didn’t deliver.😕
Thank you very much jeeves19 !! This forum helps me a lot to stay realistic (and the things that keep me "going" >>>> work (money) , supplements, and of course movement......and yes, also do some chelation.
However, I will still try to contact also : thehealthcure.org They have send me an interesting mail about their products.
Jan, a friend who has pd has trialled therapeutic ibogaine sourced from South Africa. The regime was 10mg up to 20mg per day, in 2 doses. When used to break addiction doses equate to this kind of amount per kilogram of bodymass, so the 2 are not really comparable, you wouldn't try taking 75 paracetamols in one day after all.
Certainly there is evidence for:
Danger of cardiovascular complication in high doses
Psychotic effects and hallucinogenesis at high doses
Upregulation of gdnf production in non-human subjects
Ibogaine is illegal in UK but other European countries have it on a different footing.
As a scientist I advised my friend on their regime and their recording of symptoms and side effects. The results were....utterly inconclusive, no clear evidence for thereutic benefits but no side effects either. Their most telling comment was that Ibo intake was associated with a period of low life stress and of low severity of pd symptoms too. The other comment was that it was expensive - £100 per gramme.
I myself took a different route, dbs, which has been revelationary.
Jan, I was bradykinetic/ dystonic taking Ropinirole, Amantidine, selegiline and trihexyphenidyl; i still take them but at half the dose, i've gone from having people staring at me staggering down the street to 'normal'!
Last I researched Ibogaine, I corresponded with Dr. Deborah Mash at the Univ of Miami (she is a neuroscientist, not an MD) who had a clinic on St Bart's Island for addiction treatment using Ibogaine. I read that she had isolated the molecule(s) responsible for inducing hallucinations, though cannot reference this. When i discussed using ibogaine for my husband at the time, she had not thought about this, and stated ibogaine could induce tremors, so she was reluctant to use it for PD. I do not know is she continues with her clinic.
Ibogaine, ibogamine and ibogaline are examples of visual-inducing alkaloids found in Tabernanthe Iboga. Tabernanthine is another alkaloid that is known to induce nausea with no visuals. There are people working on non-hallucinatory analogs but they are not as effective. Think of it like the Cannibis plant. CBD is there to counter the THC allowing the user to relax and not get paranoid. Same goes for Iboga. The alkaloids all work together to create the Iboga experience. There is a purified total alkaloid extraction of the Iboga shrub which is boss in my opinion. As for treating Parkinson’s I believe they are not flooding people, but either microdosing ibogaine or saturating the brain with ibogaine. I had drug induced Parkinsonism, which is like Parkinson’s but goes away if the person can get off drugs. After a few small to medium doses of ibogaine HCL it was gone along with my cravings for drugs. Best thing I could have done for myself, my family and my community. Deborah Mash is great, by the way. 😁
Interesting, interesting >>> didn't know that even professors or into it. I will try (skeptical person by nature I am) to contact her (on Wikipedia stands that she has done some research about Alzheimer AND Parkinson....).
But know I'm going to look at another drug for me (but due to my physical condition, only possible to look and to dream about a participation) : Ironman Hawaii.....
Curious about how long I will looking (here in Europe it is night......)
3 years ago I was hooked on MDPV and Fentanyl amongst other drugs. I also had Schizophrenia and drug induced Parkinsonism. I went for ibogaine treatment and I have never been on any antipsychotics, antidepressants or any other prescription drugs... and I have not touched MDPV or Fentanyl since. For the last 3 years I have been working with ibogaine. It is not a cure for addiction but it is an addiction interrupter. Best medicine on the planet, hands down, for addiction and depression and now possibly Parkinson’s. And the latest study on safety has shown ibogaine to be safer than methadone. I have a friend whom has published a lot of research on Ibogaine and currently she is working in Spain on a project involving patients with Parkinson’s disease. I know this site is about anonymity but I have no problem sharing my story with people. Not trying to sell anything. Just happy to combat big pharma with medicine that really works. reset.me/story/how-a-schizo...
Interesting.....>>> what kind of Ibogaine do you use : I've understand you have about five "stronginess" appearance of Ibogaine (the roots, the tablet, the powder, etc......).
What where your symptoms of Parkinson (tremor or rigor, which site....)
(P.S. : do you speak french ? then I send you some links of (for me) an interesting french doktor)
