Does anyone else experience pain at the waistline when wearing a belt or an even slightly restrictive waistband?

When the belt or other restriction is removed, the pain increases momentarily, then subsides. Note: I am 84, slightly underweight, was diagnosed w PD 10 yrs ago.

Yes I get that. PD 5 year’s, early 50’s. My digestion has slowed down and my stomach is more easily upset. Constipation is a regular concern. I also have an “overactive” bladder so I’m not always sure what to attribute the pain to. I have had trouble lately keeping my weight up.

I am considering suspenders. 🙂

Ron my husband has had PD since 2004. He is now 68.He also complains of a side pain almost daily. He has had two hernia surgeries and this pain feels just like it. He says it is very bad. He knows it is not the same issue. It is the PD causing him constipation and digestive problems. The pain is as if the waste is not coming down and is just stuck there on his side. He has been hospitalized once and had to have his stomach pumped and a slow start on food again after a few days.

Be sure to take stool softeners daily that are NOT stimulants. You will cramp and have more pain. He takes 100mg twice daily of Colace.

God Bless!!

Imbanni, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was diagnosed in 2011, use a generic for Colace, (one daily). I have had only one episode of constipation serious enough to consult a doctor. At that time we discussed treatment, including my admission to having used tap water enemas almost daily, a practice which is still, I believe, generally frowned upon by the medical profession. Since I had met success for almost 20 years he instructed me to continue. I do not often take laxatives, not that they are not effective, but mainly because I have not needed them. NOTE: I am not suggesting that you, or anyone, use this practice without instruction and/or permission and approval from your doctor. Regarding your husband's symptoms, have you made sure that he is sufficiently hydrated. Lack of water in the system causes many of our problems. Your description of the pain makes one think of appendicitis. Remember, Hydrate
