I did before they got my meds correct!

Wow what a difference now.

what do you take

I started on Miranex, went to Requip XL and then Sinemet. I don’t know if I was just taking too much or if I just couldn’t handle those meds. I am currently on Stalevo 4 times daily and Carb/Levo once daily. IF I take extra, by mistake, I get very tired.

Talk with your Drs. and see if you can't work together to find the best fit for you. :)

Daily.

Narcolepsy is highly embarrassing, especially your very first moment. I used to have warnings before, but there has been many more since without warning, which does create a sense of embarrassment. DiCan has a very good initial step that hopefully helps. Just remember to communicate with your medical/PD team and let them know asap. If you don’t communicate they will assume all is well. You are the best person to describe this.

Yes, I do, but then I can only manage about 5 hours in bed before my arthritis demands that I get up.

I've fallen asleep having a sandwich, and almost always while watching TV and at the cinema.

'Tis the nature of the beast, I fear.

I like that!

Hi ram,

I fall into unconsciousness at any given time. I can be standing up doing laundry; sitting at the table talking to my husband; and most recently, I was sitting on a backless bar stool and don't remember going to sleep. I woke as I was falling backwards and landed on the ceramic-tiled floor, hard. While falling in what seemed like slow motion, I was wondering how many broken bones I would have. LOL

Luckily, no broken bones. Just very sore for a few days.

I take Requip and Sinemet. I've spent the last 3 weeks tapering off Requip; from 15mg to 7.5mg. I'm having a hard time right now and will have to stick to 7.5mg for a while. I wouldn't recommend anyone take Requip or Mirapex. They can affect you very badly. Wish I had known then...

dubdiva and the rest of you,

Thanks you for asking and for evreyones replies here, too. This is helpful to hear what all of you have to say about these issues.

When I was first Dx my neurologist put me on Requip. Bad for me. When driving I was falling asleep at most every red stoplight. I fell asleep twice midsentence while teaching classes. The students claimed i kept talking - and that they weren't quite sure what was going on.

Very embarassing.
