I have not used apokyn because I have not needed to. I have been able to overcome freezing and also my shuffling by learning to use my conscious brain to overcome my walking r=problems. Look at my profile to find out more about what I do.
Skullgulch. Reading about your book today will get and read. My wife has had Parkinson's for 15 years. We live in the country and have always been active. It hurts mentally not to be able to move (frozen) at times up hours.
What country do you live in? Are you aware that you can overcome freezing by taking conscious control of your movements?

Skullgulch, my wife tried apokyn and felt great for 4 days then did not work and lowered her blood pressure. Up the dose per doc still not work. Seem to cause her to freeze for longer times. I told the doc I will not give anymore. She then 2 months later got uti infection that local docs missed and we ended up in er. 2 months to recover then doc thought if she takes n orthera a med for low blood pressure she could tolerate the apokyn again. The apokyn is $29000 and the n orthera is $4500 +- for months supply, unbelievable. We tried apokyn begins low dose no help increase several times no help. She at times can not move or walk, need porta pot by you. Very hard times of what w e went through. The sinemet does not work at times sometimes does. Stop apokyn have full order they not take back. Then insurance not help with n orthera so stop that to. Taking to many drugs. That was our experience with apokyn. Everyone is different though.
