After 20+ years in a room working alone
7 plus with Parkinson's I was moved into a communal office with 11 other staff
Now I am a social animal but found it impossible to adjust to the noise.
Would the Parkinson's Have been
a factor?

YES, probably the main if not the only factor. The situation would probably be unbearable. With PD, even though you are watching something about to happen and know that a noise is about to be made it still shocks you when it happens, as if you had no idea it was coming. Your whole body is like a trip spring ready to react to every sound and your PD is magnified by the stress. Plus the fact that you are not used to it the situation would be unacceptable and impossible to adjust.
Yes definitely😕
Yes!
Multi tasking gets very difficult or impossible and trying to concentrate with noise the same. I cant keep to a conversation if there is another conversation nearby. It is too distracting.
See the post FINALLY
I have sensory over load. Cant cope with noise
At work, our office Voice Over Internet Phones (VOIP) service includes a desk unit as well as software on the computer. I got on line when the supply office was dispensing full headphones with microphone that plug into the computer. I switch back and forth between using the desk unit handset and hands free headphones when I am at the office. I find I'll enjoy wearing the headphones long after a conference call just for their ambient office sound blocking qualities.
