Summary: In a Phase I clinical study, researchers were able to transform

the immune system by taking cells damaged in Parkinson’s disease and

making them cells that protect and defend against brain injury.

So this is a repurposed drug originally used to increase t-cells. In that case off it works can't they apply for that special status to move things along?
