Hi 9284. This is 9741 calling. I don't know how serious you and your husband are about trying to find ways of dealing more effectively with Pd. I am very serious about what I do to help myself overcome many of my Pd movement symptoms. I started doing FAST WALKING in 1994, and within 4 years many of my symptoms improved quite considerably. After 8 years of starting the fast walking, I was able to stop taking my Pd medication and I have lived a normal life ever since then, free of any Pd medication.

I am now 82 years old and am still doing the fast walking. I did a 5 kilometre cross country walk last Saturday in less than 9 minutes a kilometre. I came first in my age category and the other contestants did not have Pd.

Fast walking produces a natural protein in the brain that repairs the damaged brain cells, which is why I am able to do what I do. If your husband is prepared to start walking as fast as he can for as little as 5 minutes, every second day, for two weeks, and then increases that time by no more than 5 minutes per walk for the next 2 weeks, and continues to increase the time by an additional 5 minutes every second week until he is walking for one hour, then he too can possibly achieve this result. What has he got to loose?
