As someone Who treated Marijuana all his life like a taboo I was reluctant to try it until I had finally given up on traditional meds. When you walk into a dispensary you are instantly overwhelmed by product names just go to one of their menus. Since smoking pot is a carcinogen you will want to vape it. Now you have to figure on how to vape it, and there are dozens of ways to do that. I have become a big fan of the Dream Steam Vape Pen. THC or the head high or buzz is more for pain like cancer. For parkie's the cbds to treat anxiety and sleep are very beneficial and here is the good part (they are neuroprotective). there is a product out there called Charlotte's Web. You don't need a medical card for it because there are no THCs. They have their own vape pen now but the product is expensive.I do not like the oral drops because for me you have to wait an hour to see if and how its working. If you inhale the product it takes less and you start feeling the effects after 3 min. I found it more cost effective to pay for Dr. 150.00$ pay for the card 150.00$ and a small oil vial that screws into a pen for 40.00$ . The pen is 12.00 $. You are not getting the flavor but I don't care. For myself I find the 1 to 1 THC to CBD is best. If I wake up in the middle of the night instead of going downstairs and pour some Tequila, I keep a vape pen next to my bed. 3 puffs and I am back out. (That's me in a nutshell)
Now for your question? I don't know for pain and weakness.
Thank you for all the good information. THC does not agree with me. Simply makes me hyper and anxious but I would like to try the CBD and if I can get it without having to go through the rigmarole of a card and so on that would be great.
Where do you get this info HAL? MJF petitioning congress?
It wasn't their opinion in January. And they did not say it was neuro protective either. I haven't seen any of the "so much evidence" but it should be easily available if true.
I understand that there is some reading between the lines but CBDs are slowly becoming acceptable with the Parkinson's community. They just can't say anything because its unlawful.
We can agree to disagree on that one Hal. I personally believe in decriminalising MJ but that's a side issue. I think it is probably a useful drug but with a limited application just like any other meds, certainly not a miracle cure. Probably good for pain, relaxation and sleep and maybe nausea.
No , no . My argument is that it is not a miracle cure. Not a silver bullet but a bullet non the less. It is neuroprotective in the same way nicotine is neuroprotective. Alcohol is not and that is the context that I am stating. I have a strong argument with the MM movement because they do believe it could be a cure all. For me I use it like aspirin. Not every day but only when my regular meds don't quite cut it. Also I received an email from Team Fox yesterday and they addressed the whole congress thing. Did you get a chance to see that?
You mentioned your husband has CBD is that brain degeneration. I have a relative with CBD but she has only had it a couple of years and is not doing well. How are you treated for that?
Hello unfortunately patients with Atypical Parkinson's like CBD there are no new medicines for them other then the meds for Parkinson's. He has had CBD now for eleven years, tried everything the only thing left is medical marijuana for the pain. But not a lot of doctors are certified to give it out so it's been an up hill battle with trying to find someone that will take care of him. Sorry I wish I had better news for you if you do find out anything please let me know.
I've hear that Medical Marijuana is suppose to be on the ballet this next election in my state (Arkansas). I don't need it, at least not yet, but it would be wonderful if those that do need it could get it. This is a Baptist dominated state and the Baptist worry a lot about people getting addicted. I personally feel it is an unfound worry.
I am just about open to anything that makes a Parkie's life better. I got my MMC last October. It really did not help me so my Doctor started to address my anxiety. I kept away from the MM until we addressed the anxiety side. I didn't want any interference with the Zoloft. I do find it very useful for sleep , much better than Tequila.
Gaby has to make a decision which will impact her season and some young hopefuls life. She is shaking. I get this way playing fun video games without meds.
