Our PD nurse told us about this. Has anyone tried it?

Yes or you can try counting, or music with strong beat.

There is probably a metronome on your cell phone Easy to try. I carry my cell in a fanny pack.

HI, yes I have and it definitely helps. You have to practice to get the precise beat for the user and of course the old mechanical ones aren't the best!! I found however that getting the beat from pieces of music on an mp3 player or similar had the same helpful effect and sounded so much better than tick... ...tick... ...tick. Definitely worth trying and remember it might take a few tries to get it right so do persevere.

I have had good results with a metronome from my smartphone, which can be downloaded via google play on android phone (free). I also prefer music with a strong beat, like marches (they should not be too fast). Furthermore I recommend, to download (also free) a soundmeter, to control the speech and to exercise loud speaking.
