Alternative medicine: Has anyone tried... - Cure Parkinson's
Alternative medicine
Acupuncture, like many therapies for Parkinson's patients has a mixed clinical history and tea, especially black, green and chamomile, is good for PD. What herbal tea does he use?
please tell me more about this
I looked like a knotted-up pretzel and was in agonizing pain when I started seeing my neighbor, an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner. I went for a few weeks and found incredible relief. I still have the tremor, but lost the rigidity, and the pain lightened up considerably. I would recommend acupuncture to anyone!
I do acupuncture for 4 month. at the begjning it seems to ease the tremore now I dont know
Never forget PLACEBO efect
I have been an advocate for Acupuncture for at east 5 years before my diagnosis. It provided me with a much less traumatic stress level than chiropractic and lessened stress I started going for relief from a past shoulder injury.
I was told if I gave her a month and an "open mind" she could relieve the pain. I was told previously by my Western medicine GP that I was looking at rotator surgery! Her reply to that was "you never see an old Chinese guy with gaping scars from surgeries!"
She proved herself to her word. Almost twenty years and a PD diagnosis later, my shoulder continue to make terrible noises and provides me with a gruseom party oddity but is pain free. Noisy during Yoga.... but pain free.
When I was finally diagnosed with PD, and to her credit and caring personality, she started me on a herbal and vitamin therapy and altered/continued acupuncture treatments relieving some rigidity and promoting an inside my body environment in which myself and this pesky neuro-muscular disease can (peacefully as possible) coexist. Still true to this day, she is the only one that offers true belief from the "inside tremor" that feels like I need to answer my cellphone. That is one that my Neuro can't do.
$ years ago going into Mayo Clinic for DBS my Neuro surgeon had her come in to do an acupuncture treatment before my surgery. Every check up the Mayo team says "Just keep doing what you're doing!"
Great glad this works for you,I think it does help the stress with my husband and maybe some back pain--he just is wired different and gets depressed with the PD.He also began an herbal tea regime last week, 4 different bottles the Dr made for her practice here at a hospital,we do not know what it is supposed to do?make him calmer I hope?Only had 5 cups now will see after few weeks if helps??She checked with the chinese Dr who trained her and he looked at the medications my husband takes and said it will not interfere with them.Hoping this all helps. Also I read acupuncture is maybe tax deduction??
