DBS?

I am hoping to get the OK for DBS surgery soon. Would love to hear from anyone who has had this done. Good or bad, I need to know.

In my boxing group (rock steady boxing), I know 6 people that had DBS surgery & 2 of them had complications, 1 had an infection & had to have it taken out (4-5 yrs ago), the other one had some infection problems but his turned out fine (his was a year ago), & all the others said it was the best thing they had done. I know at least 2 of them had the left & right side done.

I had it done in 2008..made a huge difference for the better, have had no issues with it except having to travel to get reprogrammed, I live in n.ireland and go to Bristol ...when my specialist nurse reprogrammed me, I am walking near to perfect, but after traveling back home. Am never as good".not sure what's that about

But it happens to as lot of people who travel the distance. Would love to ha s a specialists DBS nurse here
