My wife was prescribed these patches, which dispense a dopamine agonist through the skin. Unfortunately, they caused her bad nausea, just like the the tablets did, when she first tried them. I believe that many patients cannot tolerate dopamine agonists.
A compounding pharmacist can put c/l into caps which might help that reaction. Also the new Rytary is in caps. We really like it.
Your doc will have to write a script for the compounder who will know far more than the doc. Talk to him about what he can do and then tell your doc to talk with him...the pharmacist will advise your doc. A compounding pharmacist can be your best friend. The first time we used one, he put ibuphropen in a cream so it didn't have to go thru the gi system. My husband couldn't take macuna w/o vomiting and the pharm showed me how to load it into caps and gave me the equivalent dose. Because your govt is looking out for you, he was not allowed to load the caps with his machine in minutes so I slogged along loading them by hand, thousands of them, for years.
