long term help from dbs?

I would like to hear from people who have been using dbs for a long time---years. DOes it still help? How long do you see benefits from it?

DBS on November 24th for me--I would like to know as well--thanks!

I had DBS in 2004 and its still working good today.

Hi Siak. Saw your post. My husband had bilateral DBS 13 years ago. Still working. He had a third surgery to try to fix one lead but that didn't help. Anyway, yes without DBS he would be soooooo much worse. his dyskinesia would be out of control. DBS gave him his life back and still is working fine. It allows him to have a decent quality of life.He has had 2 battery replacement surgeries and since they happen ever 5 - 6 years, he should have another soon. By the way he was diagnosed 30 years ago. Hope this helps.
