Hi everyone , is there anyone on here from Cumbria ? If so , the Parkinson's UK Carlisle branch are setting up a group for the more active PwPs in the area. We already run an exercise group led by a qualified physio . We are in the process of setting up an agreement with some local complimentary therapists to provide affordable therapies for PwPs and those affected by Parkinson's. We are also holding an event on November 22nd to officially launch the group and give people the chance to try out things like Tai Chi , Exercise Class , Alexander technique , Feldenkrais method and various complimentary therapies. It's FREE but booking will be essential ........................more details ? send me a message or contact me through our Facebook page (I'm trying to get to grips with Twitter as well but its a slow process)

Well done, good luck to you, theses active groups are really needed if only to counteract the cucumber sandwiches and tea stereotype of The usual Parkinson's meeting.
Wishing your UK group much support and success. Here in Maryland, we have found NO private gyms that offer any specialized servcies to Parkinson's. Currently we are trying to locate an active Parkinson's group that promotes physiotherapy.
Thanks...will follow up online!
