Why do you need so

Much Madopar ? Are the settings of the DBS correct? Is the battery still working and has it been checked?

I have had DBS for 4 years. Originally PD was diagnosed in 1994, aged 37. Initially I took Madopar then transferred to apomorphine in attempt to manage dyskinesia and increasing 'off' periods and pain. When decided to have DBS they transferred me back to Madopar. Since the op I have gradually increased Madopar and am now on 125 and 125CR every 4 hours during the day and 2 x 125CR overnight - total 4 x 125 and 6 x 125CR per day. Also amantadine. I have also had spinal stimulator inserted last year but jury is out regarding effectiveness. I have mobility problems and prone to falls, and speech deterioration.

I am due to see the neurologist consultant next week and shall advise you of the outcome.
