I have olivo ponto cerebeller atrophy.my problem is constant pooling of saliva That prevents me speaking .I cannot walk,write..? Ii

Hi Bobann. With Parkinson's disease, pooling of saliva in the mouth is the result of not regularly swallowing. Are you aware if you don't swallow regularly? It is a habit you can develop, consciously swallowing. Try it, it may help you.

I get mucus in the throat and chest when I eat dairy products, especially milk. If you cut them out for a while and see if the problem goes away, then you will know what is causing it.

Not all of us have this saliva type of problem and I think replies you get here are likely to be belief as much as fact. But i may be wrong! Best of luck.

you might have a swallow evaluation done at a local hospital.

also LSVT-LOUD might help with swallowing. It's primarily to help you speak and communicate but has side benefits for swallowing. It's very complex, swallowing.
