Hi fellow Parkies, I would like to know if and how many of you were diagnosed in your 30s or had it before diagnosis and how did you manage it, please take out some time and reply. Thanks

Retrospectively, my symptoms went back to my 30's, but was not diagnosed until about 10 years later. There is a young onset PD group on facebook that you might find useful.

facebook.com/groups/YOPD1/ I started out on Azilect, have tried others (requip, neupro patch, did not work for me). I now take Azilect and Sinemet. Sinemet was added about a year ago when my tremors began to interfere with daily activities again.

Hi Joe,

I also take Azilect, when I started the patch, my blood pressure went up. I could not tell any significant changes in tremor after starting the patch, so did not see a reason to continue it. I try not to take any more meds than I have to. My md wanted to hold off on Sinemet, but we did add it last summer, which has made a big difference in the tremor.

Like many early onset, I am tremor dominant. I was a gymnast growing up and still did a lot of flexibility work. Over the last month I have started having a lot more stiffness. I have doubled my stretching to morning and evening. It is a continuous process, I don't know if it will work but am doing what I can to try and prevent it from getting worse. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish how much is PD and how much is just getting older!
