kidneystone treatmeant
Hi jamieic1231, I understand kidney stone pain, it is the worst. Did they do a cat scan to see how big the stone is and where it is. I have had 3 stone, 2 were so big hey had to do sonar treatment, where the blast the stone with sonar to break it so it is much easier to pass, the 2nd one would not break up with the sonar so they had to go in with a laser through the urethra to break it up, very painful afterwards because they have to put a stent in so the urethra won't swell shut. The third one I managed to pass on my own. Did they set you up with a urologist? All I can tell you is to drink ots and lots of liquids! Sorry about your pain!

this is cruel and inhuman. From my experience in nursing (years ago but I worked in medical field) pain often goes under-treated. They should have admitted you and watched over you until it was passed and, above all, medicated your pain.
I know a friend with a mental illness who also has physical illnesses involving pain. Whenever she goes to the hospital, she gets told it's all in her head and gets a run around. They think she's 'drug seeking' and she's not.
Do you think your condition was dismissed because of the PD? I know sometimes people talk down to my husband or look to me but if you listen to him and give him time, he gets his thoughts out. Did they not listen to you. Please know that you have ways to complain and follow up. It's your right as a patient.
