no. They have a tool which pulls them out quite easily.

What did you have, wifeofparky that required the staples, if I may ask?

My staples were removed from the back of my neck, now 7 months ago, in Oct. 2016 after I had surgery when I fell and broke my neck (the first two vertebrae). After my inpatient therapy, I went back to the doctor to have my staples removed. I sat on a stool with my back to him as I could hear each "clink" as they dropped into the metal pan he was holding.

Then, I knew better than to ask, but I did anyway. As the doctor left the room, I asked how many staples he had to remove.

He then left as my wife watched me turn an ashen shade of gray and start to fall head first into the table in front of me. She got there very quickly in preparation for me to pass out, knowing what was going to happen. I was having an episode of my syncope.

Now, let me tell you that I can watch blood squirting out of anyone ele, but don't let anyone do I anything to me!

I really do not remember if I had staples. My husband did and he had no problems having them removed. He had fallen and had a head wound that they stapled shut

I guess you can ask for a local. In my experience staple removal is more uncomfortable than painful. It doesn't hurt that much. Good luck!

I would say that they most likely would not give you a local for that, It really isn't bad getting them out, I just had 42 or so removed from my belly/ torso. It stings just a bit but its quick so really no big deal. Not as bad as getting them, believe me!

Not sure if it is a local but they do dab some numbing gel to help for the uncomfortable pull or snap when removed, you been thru so much this will seems easy!
