BEST MOUTGUARD FOR TREMOR/NIGHT GRINDING??

I saw a post some time ago about using a mouthguard for this problem. Any ideas about what kind is best? Has anyone time-tested a particular brand that they like best?

I bought mine in a pharmacy (US). They were made by a medical company, but it was so long ago that I have long since destroyed the brand information. They work well. I believe you will find that, if you get a quality guard and follow the directions for forming it to your teeth, it will give you good service.

If you have cats in your house, here's a word of warning. Do not leave your mouthpiece in any accessible place when it is not in use. Cats find them delicious.

Hi your dentist will make one for you ,i have tried the over the counter ones which you put in hot water and it moulds to the shape of your gums but they are not very strong ,and dont particualy fit well ,dentist makes mine ,you will have to pay though .

I have heard about lots of folks not particularly caring for the fit of ones from the dentist after spending all that money unfortunately. will call my dental insurer to see if they pay any part of it or not == thanks for the idea though!

I wonder if your dentist includes in his (or You f you submit the claim) that the grindfing is due to Parkinsons?

Try the over the counter ones first ..you can also buy from Ebay or Amazon gd luck x

Has anyone looked at the videos for putting in a mouthpiece for TMJ that is made by a Parkinson specialist TMJ dentist? I can't figure out if they are a different kind of mouthpiece or what. All the videos demonstrate miracle like results. Since I already had TMJ and needed a new one, I had one made in Panama, but I didn't get the dramatic results for parkinson's symptoms that I saw on all these videos. Just google TMJ for Parkinson's as I would like to get your opinions.

This involves teeth being removed and is a major ordeal I believe. I was exposed to it at the Parkinson's Recovery Conference 2 years ago in Cincinnati Ohio. I decided it would be too difficult for me to get used to and to go through. hose who had found the right dentist who knew what he was doing were getting good results with it or so it seemed.

I tried the over the counter ones & they didn't work for me. I asked my dentist

if he could make one for me. He made me one & it only lasted about a week. He made a second one & it broke after a couple of months. The third is still going strong after a couple of years. The dentist said I have a very exact bite & TMJ. He adjusts the gaurd whenever I get my apt every 6 months. I hope you find a solution. Good Luck.
