In what way is the upgraded HealthUnlocke... - Cure Parkinson's
In what way is the upgraded HealthUnlocked site an improvement? All observations facts and opinions required. Thanks.
i for one dont like it at all and where are my messages ?
The front page is only showing a few news feeds - unless I am missing something.
Previous site set up was good because you could see a whole lot of recent posts, blogs and questions straight away.
Who is going to search for things that cannot be seen?
I think the old presentation was far superior
Regards
Andy
We believed the old site had many drawbacks and have only used customer feedback, which we value greatly, to create a new and improved site.
With that being said, please be aware that we are first off experiencing some unexpected technical issues but also that we are going to continuously be improving this site to be the best it can possibly be. It would be nice if you could bear with us in the meantime.
Many thanks
Hello Lora
Just need to get used to it -
I am put off by just seeing latest dozen/twenty odd entries in News feed format - As I pop in, rather than visit every day and like to find things of interest as quickly and smoothly as possible..
Also there is not a search facility that I can see yet on the Parkinson's Movement menu bar - Type headache into the search facility in the top HU green bar sends you away from things related to PD.
Cheers
Andy
I think what I'd really like is a list of features added / taken away / modified along with lists of those bugs fixed and a list of those now remaining or new, i.e. like a proper release note that users to read so that they know what to expect particularly with new features. If there are any new features I'm not using them because I don't `know what they are?
One is left wondering how thoroughly tested the new software was prior to release. This and configuration control procedures are vital. In the commercial world if these things are not handled correctly then there can be very significant failures for the software suppliers and their clients.
Also, one feature I used a great deal was the recent activity list available via ones picture icon. But it seens that has been taken away from us?
like i said before if it aint broke why fix it ?
WHAT IS GOING ON? Have I woken to a nightmare of (for me) epic proportions? I last used this site as I always have (usually at least once a day) & now I'm faced with a slow sort-of-service about which I don't think I had any notice. I have PD - my cognitive & motor skills are impaired so this was a lifeline. Perhaps the cover page should be a site map showing clearly where all the former services can be accessed? Pete1 we seem to think along the same lines about things - I hadn't read your comments before I wrote this but we're saying the same things.
Hi Sharon, re your last point - was it broke??? When were we asked about this? Am I going mad or have I already arrived? In the words of the song "there are more questions than answers.'
Repeat of my response to Matt:
I am a retired computer professional. My daughter is a commercial software implementation specialist in Seattle; my son is a designer of commercial web pages in Boston. In my opinion, this redesign is way below professional standards with regard to utility.
1. It is non-intuitive.
2. Site navigation is an undocumented mystery.
3. There does not seem to have been any attempt at a trial run before it was dumped on the masses.
4. What about a community specific SEARCH?
5. It's more convenient for your IT staff? That is a weak argument when you have a human factors flop.
6. The EGO thing says we have to keep this. I desperately plead for some fixes:
a. intuitive, labeled navigation.
b. community limited Search
c. Author input for Tags on posts (Auto-Tag is terrible)
d. mouse hovers on key words to explain their meaning and intended action. I hate being flung into the ether.
e. Get some web designers to look at this and advise you how to make it intuitive for users - this used to be a People site.
f. Create an advisory board of users and let them provide input on what is most critically broken and on what fixes are acceptable. The chair of the advisory board should be the official spokesman on these issues. Your staff has lost a lot of credibility.
I would much prefer the old site. I'm pretty good with computers and I can't figure the new site out. One specific problem: when I click the button to stay signed in, it only lasts for a short time. It''s a pain to have to re-sign in several times a day.
Hi Pete - all of the points you raise are very reasonable. We're really sorry we haven't been able to deliver in the way you'd expect us to. Every bit of effort is now being made to put things back on track. This includes the usability issues as much as fixing any bugs still out there. Our small team is having to prioritize things day by day so you will see changes appearing steadily rather than in one go.
And we'll be turning on notifications and communicating with users shortly.
I HATE THIS SITE NIW - HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW EVERY COMMENT YOU MAKE GETS TAGGED ONTO THE ONE BEFORE AND NOT INTO THE PERSON YOU ARE ANSWERING
I valued the facility to find out where people lived and to see two streams of entries, questions and blogs. I would like my photograph to return to full colour and for the site to e-mail when there are posts. I am prepared to keep going with it because I know that I and others found it so useful, but not so much now.
