4 AM Mania?

Does Waking Up at 4 AM everymorning suck or what? Today I woke up at 2:30. What joy.

This isn't really a question, it's a phenomenon. I should look for a job as a rooster.

melatonin helps me as mch as clonapin which gradually became less effective. I still wake up at 2 to 6 am usually, but it's worth a try, Joe. i try to nap/meditate in the afternoon, that helps for the rest of the day but I wonder if it sabotages my night time lack of sleep...lol

I too wake at 2 am to take meds and find it difficult to return sleep. If I do it is just in time to take the 6 am meds and then 10 meds. I get very little sleep day or night. I am exhausted now. Almost ready to not read every post and omit by title those I think might not interest me at this point and substitude the reading for a nap. Dennis

My Dad starts his daily doses of Parkinson's meds every day at 4am. He has been doing that for a few years now. Sometimes, he's able to go back to sleep and other times, not.

I am also awake early hours 2onwards I tend to put my radio on and drift in and out of sleep and get up at 6ish

Hey, just had a thought could you be the person to set up a site for Night Owls. Feel very guilty about trying to offload this as I made the original suggestion, But my computer knowledge is so limited and I am away from home most weekends in the Summer.

I would love to see this get off the ground as I think so many people would benefit from something along these lines.

From a very guilty

Thanks. Think its a good idea, but haven't a clue how to go about setting it up.

Also, I have started taking an extra tablet in the night and this is helping a little, though cannot lie in bed when awake, so still getting up early.

Always awake at 4:30 sometimes earlier. and that's after having been up till 12 or 1 am, sometimes later. Seems I have learned to function on very little sleep. I am fortunate to be working part time with a very understanding employer, for now!!

I occasionally pull "all nighters" where I never get to bed or to sleep. And then there are a multitude of nights of 2-3 hours sleep. Its not that I'm not tired I just can't sleep for long stretches. Eight hours of sleep seems like an impossible dream. Melatonin does work and seems to have little side effects for me. A little fuzzy waking up the next morning . Just have to remember to take it......

As for the night owl blog- how about we call it "night owl" with the date and then we use it just for that night or maybe one blog a week.?

Can the moderator comment on a better idea maybe?. This subject has come up a number or times and it would be a great support for those of us who are alone and have hours to go before sunrise.

Alot of people I've talked to, with or without PD, have told me that they wake up at odd times, like 5:05 AM, every day. I heard somewhere that people are more "alert" because The World Events have us all spooked. Maybe so.

I'm up at 4 like an alarm clock every morning - and don't even try to go back to sleep anymore. So, I have the house to myself for a few hours - love it. I get some sewing done, reading, or turn on an old movie. I'm getting to really like my early mornings. Plus there is no need for alarm clocks.
