WHAT DO YOU DO TO EASE THE PAIN IN YOUR FEET - Cure Parkinson's
WHAT DO YOU DO TO EASE THE PAIN IN YOUR FEET
lie down with one pillow under your knees and 2 pillows under your heels and have a siesta. best is to time it for about 45 minutes after a dose of your pain meds, so that you have a chance of having a good rest from the pain.
Stretch! Don't allow the muscles of the foot and ankle complex shorten which is a common event in the ageing process. Calf muscle stretching can be safely done and is as important as brushing teeth.
A good stretch can be performed at the kitchen sink. Place one foot back while holding on to the sink and lean forward with your body straight while slightly bending the forward knee. Keep the heel flat to the floor on the foot in back. You should feel a stretch from the heel to the knee. Hold for 5 seconds repeat on the other side. Could be done every time you go for a drink.
Also... take your hands and stretch the toes upward and hold 5 seconds or more.
Sometimes the only way I can describe how bad my feet hurt is.to recall the movie "Misery" when Kathy Bates hobbles James Caan. Then the only thing I can do is take pain meds and wait till it eases up. Wishing I was a kid again and there was someone to make it go away.
I have had Parkinson's for eight years and for four of those years a terrible pain in my left foot.
The good news is I no longer have pain in my foot, the bad news is it was finally recognised as nothing to do with Parkinson's disease.
Every doctor I saw brushed it off as PD. I finally went to a young phsysio for back pain who said "rubbish" to it being PD.
He referred me to a podiatrist. By this time the pain had almost gone by itself. The podiatrist said it was arthritis and the bones in my toes had fused together and should no longer hurt. She was right! I walk funny but it doesn't hurt! Now as for my back......
