Has anyone had the problem were you can not talk at all. I had injections in the neck to swell my vocal cords 2times, but that did not work. I have to use my iPad to write out what I want to say. If you know of anything to help me , I would like to know. Thank you for your help.

Thank you, I use an app "text to talk" but there is notting like your own voice. Not only can I not talk but when I try no one can make out what I'm saying. It's very upsetting.

i use a 'delayed speech' app on my ipod. you set the parameters so that when you speak you hear your own voice, although delayed. its like speaking in a chorus.

Hi dkramer

I have just been reading the latest "on the Move" and its focus is communication, speech issues in Parkinsons! Its a big issue with quite a few articles to read but in particular i noticed (pg29) a piece called 'giving voice'. its about the development of a new ap for people with voice problems and they are looking for people to trial it.

Here is the link. Hope it's helpful

So glad dkramer

And its even better i think knowing that Jon Stamford who oversees HU, writes and collates the polls and a hundred other roles is the editor of On the Move. He also has PD.

i MAY HAVE A SOLUTION FOR YOU. MY PD HAS GIVEN ME A STUTTER AND A VOICE THATS HARD TO HEAR. BUY AN APP CALLED "DAF" OR DELAYED AUDIO FEEDBACK.

YOU TALK - AND YOU HEAR YOUR VOICE DELAYED THRU THE EAR BUDS - AND YOU TALK ALONG WITH IT - ITS CALLED CHORAL READING - BE CAREFUL - SOME THERAPISTS SELL IT FOR $5000 - IT COSTS ME $150 - IT TAKES PRACTICE
