My father, a PWP, feels he sleep too much... - Cure Parkinson's
My father, a PWP, feels he sleep too much. Anyone else?
I had that before my meds were changed.
PD makes it difficult to sleep so a poor night's sleep could also be to blame.
My stamina is not what is use to be.
Have him talk to his Dr. about the problem.
Hi,
When you say , sleeps too much , how long does he sleep,? like some of the PD's on this site i dont sleep much , its 04.33 GMT and iv hade about 2hrs sleep, this is very common , i dont sleep through the day and very seldom feel tired during the day, its a funny old think this PD, we are all in it. yet all experiance different effects,
take care

He's lucky
Is he taking Mirapex or Requip? Both cause sleep episodes in some users.
What is the right amount of sleep.... I guess it is what you feel comfortable with if you are rested, happy, getting stuff done... then its ok. I think people over think sleep. If it impacts on your life in a negative way then you need to do something to change that. Hope all goes well. Kindest C
Maybe he is depressed, this is common among PD patients! GOD BLESS
A lot of us are jealous! I know I am! LOL!
I too would recommend checking with your dad's doc on his meds. I too had the same problem with requip, and even with plain ol' sinemet when switched to that - but that fortunately was only temporary.
Best wishes!

What does Dad think is too much sleep? If he used to get by on 6 hrs a night, but now needs 8 or 9 and a nap in the afternoon, we'll, welcome to PD, where we need help to sleep at night, and need help in order NOT to sleep during the day. There's a lot to be gained from good nutrition and exercise, but PWPs just need more sleep... Zzzzzzzzzzz
