I saw the rheumatologist for the first time on Tuesday. He ordered lots of blood work and xrays of my hands and feet. Even though I was quite vocal about my pain all he did med-wise was increase the Celebrex my PCP had put me on from 200 mg per day to 400 MG. It has done nothing! I can see my results on the patient portal, most of which I don't understand. I can tell the ANA is positive, Anti-nuclear AB titer is 1:80. My pain wakes me at night, and is so severe in my knees and ankles that I hobble more than walk. Any suggestions as to what I should do now?

Not sure what to do now
Hi Taffa, I think that since you can already see your results on the patient portal and know that they are abnormal, I would suggest calling the office again and tell them again how you can hardly sleep at night & that the increased dose of Celebrex isn't helping.
Hope you find some relief soon.
Christine
Do you have a follow up appointment with your rheumatologist to discuss the results? You will learn quickly that you have to be proactive and somewhat assertive (in a polite way) in order to get the treatment you deserve. I hope that you have contacted your doctor's office and have a plan as to how to treat your current situation and blood results. Don't settle for anything but the best treatment and respect. Keep in mind that finding the best treatment for every individual can be a long and ever-changing process. Best to begin as soon as possible!
All my best to you!
