Excited to see this community here. Meditation in today’s world can show up in so many ways. I have been using a lot of meditation apps during the day to take a quick break and shift my energy when needed. Curious to see what you all do to meditate in today’s world.

I meditate 5 mins in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening and I mostly focus on my breathing or what I can hear for those 5 minutes. Accepting thoughts whether negative or positive for that time period and letting them pass through without analysing them. Ultimately to avoid distraction and give my mind a break from constantly thinking about everything.
At first I thought meditation was to think about absolutely nothing and I realised this is impossible. I learnt that meditating is to focus on the present and bring back your focus on the present when something takes your mind away. This can be done by focusing on breathing, listening to sounds of nature or by watching a flickering candle for example.
I'd like to take these two sessions up to 10 minutes each and I expect it to be difficult in keeping still or not thinking about something else for a while but meditation overall has helped me to become calmer and reflect on life throughout the day in hopes to improve and progress. I like to believe there is no value in something easy so I accept the challenge.
