hi started wk 1 Monday and since then have bee... - Couch to 5K
hi started wk 1 Monday and since then have been shattered did everyone find this when they started? I'm falling asleep by 10pm'
I was exactly the same when I started was shattered and falling asleep after runs 1 and 2. It does get easier, but running is very relaxing- I mean not while running but afterwards . I am sleeping well and better than I have done for ages. Good luck and well done!
Well done on starting the programme. I think many of us found the programme brought about changes to our body - whether in terms of sleeping, eating or general well being.
I did, in fact still am sometimes, it was a bit of a surprise, after 20 years of inactivity, poor diet & more fags than I care to count, I was shattered after running!
I look at it this way, it's many years of neglect that is making me feel tired not the running, I'm on week 3 now & I'm amazed at my progress, still feel knackered as I sit on the wall outside my house but while I recover I update my facebook status with pride & start thinking about what I'm gonna write in my next C25k blog post.
It does get easier & you do feel great, keep going & in a few weeks you'll be giving someone else some advise & telling them how good it feels.
Phew i was beginning to think it was just me..when i thought about it ii did think perhaps getting up at 5.30 before i leave for work to do it ,might have something to do with it. Bring on Week 2
Hey you do well to stay out of bed until 10pm! I was going to bed at 9pm!.
I am now managing to stay up until 10.30pm and on week 7.
Laura is my new best friend, my aged mother in law even thought she was living close to me such is my chat about Laura and all her advice.
Stick with it and good luck.
I wasn't sleepy in the early weeks, although I was sleeping better and managing to stay in bed longer since starting c25k (sleeping to 7.30am rather than waking by 6.30am). After my last few runs (week 7) I have been getting sleepy during the day, and having run at 9am this morning, i felt like having a nap by 11am! However, I was up at 6.30am today and haven't been sleeping so well this week, so it's hard to say really. I think this muggy weather is quite sleep-inducing too.
You did well to last till 10pm! I am starting week 2 tomorrow and so far I have been going to bed at around 9pm on the days I run! I find the program quite difficult as I have never been active before, but like Mohammed Ali said, "If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, then I CAN achieve it ". All the best!
