The warm ups should be dynamic warm up excercises , not stretches .
A few stretches just after you wake up are always good, if only to make sure there are no problems. But dynamic warn up exercises include an element of stretches. Do your static stretches AFTER your run.

Purely my personal experience: I do not do stretching before or after, I have now been running for nine years without an injury. (I do yoga at other times) The only times I have felt an urge to stretch around my run session have been when I have omitted the walk at the end for some reason (I have never skipped the walk at the beginning) However, I avoid roads and pavements (ie hard surfaces) and am not chasing PBs which may be relevant.
Believing that stretching was something runners had to do was one of the things that put me off running and the fact that C25K doesn't involve them (and insists on rest days) was a big attraction.
If you feel the urge to stretch, you probably should!
