Struggling to get motivated

My leg hurts .... have a shattered plated and screwed ankle and lower leg, and a dodgy weak knee - other leg is fine!! I walk loads, ride horses, but am struggling with this whole running lark. I know that if I persevere it will get easier, but it's all hills outside the door, :( Am thinking that now we are allowed out to exercise there are some footpaths within a few miles that are fairly flat - am on w2r3 but am not running 3 times a week as struggling to get motivated. I enjoy it once I get going but it's hard.... !!! Any tips ?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

and includes advice on pacing, minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Motivation is just about the only thing that we cannot provide.......it has to come from you.

Why did you start in the first place? Try writing down all those reasons and you can cross them off your list once they are no longer applicable.

You would not be the only runner on this forum with plated and screwed legs and while that does not help it can probably be overcome, if it does not create any specific issues.

There is only one person who is going to make you do this and only one person who will stop you.

You can do this, if you really want to and we are here for advice, support and cheers across the line.
